After 11 years with Honda, a move to Ducati was a crucial year for Marc Marquez and his future at the sharp end of MotoGP.
Marc Marquez may have been a six-time MotoGP World Champion with Honda, but his MotoGP comeback came with Ducati. The Spaniard struggled with Honda since his injury in 2020, but 2024 saw him return to title contention.
Despite swapping factory efforts to a satellite Ducati team on a year-old bike Marquez fell back in love with racing again. The 2024 season was a crucial year for Marquez in securing a ride in red for the 2025 MotoGP season.

The 31-year-old returned to the top step in MotoGP for the first since 2021 during the 2024 season. Marquez won four races across Grands Prix and Sprint Race appearances, he also stood on 16 further podiums across the 40 races throughout the season.
The Gresini Racing rider ended the year in third in the 2024 MotoGP World Championship with 392 points. Marquez was 116 points behind the eventual World Champion but proved that he could once again duel with the top riders.
Marquez only spent one year in the satellite Ducati squad as the Italian manufacturer signed him to the Ducati Lenovo Team for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
