Alonso Lopez ends the opening Moto2 Free Practice session at the top of the time sheets.

After Celestion Vietti claimed his first victory of the season last time out at the Red Bull Ring Moto2 arrived at Aragon. After the Moto3 riders laid some rubber down in their session the Moto2 riders would have more grip on the new Aragon asphalt.

At the top of the time sheets after the opening Moto2 Free Practice session, was Alonso Lopez. The Spanish rider led the way at the Spanish circuit taking the top spot for Boscoscuro and SpeedUp Racing.

The top Kalex rider was Tony Arbolino in second place. The Italian rider was three-tenths behind Lopez on his ELF Marc VDS Racing Team bike.

The second Spanish rider inside the top three was Manuel Gonzalez in third place. The QJMOTOR Gresini rider was four-tenths behind Lopez.

After his return to racing after injury in Austria Deniz Oncu ended Free Practice at Aragon in fourth. The Turkish rider has looked good since his return from injury and looks right at home at Aragon.

After being snubbed by Trackhouse Racing Joe Roberts seems to be back to his best. The American rider looked out of sorts at Austria during the Friday Practice sessions but has started Aragon in fifth place.

The only other Boscoscuro rider in the top ten was Fermin Aldeguer in sixth place. The Spaniard switched leather suppliers this weekend to try to find more top speed from aerodynamics.

Bo Bendsneyder made his way into the top ten on Friday morning as he ended Free Practice in seventh. Just behind Bendsneyder was Spanish rider Aron Canet in eighth place.

Both American Racing Team riders ended the session in the top ten as Marcos Ramirez ended Free Practice in ninth.

Rounding out the top ten was British rider Jake Dixon. Dixon started the session at the top of the time sheets but gradually slipped back the order.
