Moto2 Aragon, Qualifying: Jake Dixon will start from pole for the first time in 2024

Gold and Goose

Jake Dixon snatched pole position with his last flying lap to lead the Moto2 field away on Sunday.

Throughout the weekend it had been Alonso Lopez and the SpeedUp Racing squad who had topped every session. But for Qualifying could anybody match the Spaniard at MotorLand Aragon?

After Q2 came to an end it was not Lopez on pole, instead, it was Jake Dixon. The British rider is the most on-form Moto2 rider at the moment and is searching for his second win of the 2024 season.

Brazillian rider Diogo Moreira has had a brilliant start to his weekend. He will start the Aragon Grand Prix from second on the grid.

Completing the front row is Aron Canet. The Spanish fans may not have a Spaniard on pole but they will have one on the front row.

Moto2 rookie, Deniz Oncu, will start the Aragon Grand Prix from the second row. The Turkish rider only returned from injury last time out at Austria but is finding his feet again.

After coming through the first Qualifying session Tony Arbolino put in a brilliant pace and put his bike fifth on the grid. At the end of the second row is Albert Arenas in sixth place.

Row three will be headed by Lopez. Despite setting the pace all weekend the Spaniard could not get it together in Qualifying to secure his first pole of the season.

American rider, Joe Roberts, will start the Aragon Grand Prix in eighth place, with Celestino Vietti alongside him in ninth.

Rounding out the top ten is Manuel Gonzalez in tenth place on the QJMOTOR Gresini machine.
