Moto2 Aragon, Race Results: Jake Dixon controls the Aragon Grand Prix as he wins again in Moto2

Gold and Goose

Jake Dixon is a Moto2 race winner for the second time in 2024 as he controlled the Aragon Grand Prix.

On Saturday it was Jake Dixon who took pole position for the Moto2 class. Despite Dixon's Qualifying pace, it was Alonso Lopez who had topped every Practice session. With a dirty MotorLand Aragon surface the Moto2 race was guaranteed to be dramatic.

After claiming pole position and leading the majority of the race it was Dixon who won the Aragon Grand Prix. The British rider has won his second race of the 2024 Moto2 World Championship and is well in the Moto2 title fight.

Tony Arbolino claimed his first podium of the 2024 season. It has been a terrible year for the Italian as he struggled to adjust to the Pirelli tyres. However, Arbolino fought for a race win at Aragon but ended up finishing in second.

Moto2 rookie, Deniz Oncu, seems to have figured out Moto2. The Turkish rider stood on the podium for the first time in Moto2 as he finished in third place.

Spanish riders Alonso Lopez and Manuel Gonzalez completed the top five. Lopez is also now in the fight for the Moto2 title as he finished in fourth. Gonzalez has moved up the standings with his fifth-place finish.

MotoGP-bound Somkiat Chantra was just outside of the top five as he finished in sixth place. The Thai rider was outside the top ten at the start of the race but finished the race, unlike many of the other top Moto2 riders.

Drama surrounded Marcos Ramirez at the end of the race when he finished in seventh place. The Spanish rider was battling with his American teammate, Joe Roberts until Roberts crashed out of eighth place.

Ai Ogura finished in eighth place after a terrible start to the weekend. The Japanese rider broke his right hand two weeks ago but has kept himself in the title hunt.

Darryn Binder is in fine form at the moment in Moto2. The South African rider finished in sixth and seventh in Britain and Austria and now finished ninth in Aragon.

Completing the top ten was Celestino Vietti. The Italian won last time out in Austria, but incidents put him out of the top group but he managed to get a tenth-place finish.

Championship contenders Sergio Garcia, Fermin Aldeguer and Joe Roberts failed to finish the Aragon Grand Prix.
