Manuel Gonzalez topped Moto2 Practice One as he dominated the field on Friday afternoon in Malaysia.

On Friday afternoon Manuel Gonzalez set the pace in the Moto2 class. The Spaniard has been off the podium since his race win in Japan so will want to return to the rostrum in 2024.

Filip Salac was 0.4 seconds behind Gonzalez in second place on the Elf Marc VDS Racing machine. The 2024 season has been difficult for Salac as he only has one podium finish which came in Japan.

Completing a rather unusual top three on Friday afternoon was Deniz Oncu on the Red Bull KTM Ajo. The Turkish rider has had an inconsistent rookie season but has shown pace at points in 2024.

Despite a crash at the final corner Jake Dixon ended his day in fourth. The British rider was taken to the medical centre for a check-up but was seen back in his pit box during the session.

Ai Ogura took a while to get going in Practice One on Friday afternoon. However, the Japanese rider did end the day in fifth place and finished as the top Boscoscuro rider.

Tony Arbolino, who is yet to announce his 2025 plans, ended Day One in sixth in Malaysia. The Elf Marc VDS Racing rider has had a difficult season by his standards but will want to end his time with his current team with good results.

The second Gresini Moto2 rider Albert Arenas ended the day in seventh place. Arenas was 0.6 seconds behind his teammate, Gonzalez at the top of the time sheets.

Brazilian rookie Diogo Moreira continued his good form in his rookie season as he ended the day in eighth place.

After missing the last two rounds with injury, Celestino Vietti was back on track on Friday in Malaysia. The Italian rider ended the day in ninth place.

Completing the top ten was Spanish rider, Marcos Ramirez, the OnlyFans American Racing Team rider will be on the hunt for a second podium after standing on the rostrum last time in Thailand.
