Moto2 Malaysia, Race Results: Vietti takes victory after returning from injury

Celestino Vietti returned to winning ways in Malaysia after missing the Thai Grand Prix due to injury.

After missing the Thai Grand Prix through injury Celestino Vietti returned in the Malaysian Grand Prix. The Italian rider had been strong all weekend and dominated the Moto2 Grand Prix and won his second race of the season.

Jorge Navarro has proven this weekend that he deserves a competitive ride in Moto2. The Spaniard is replacing Joe Roberts and claimed pole position and finished in second place.

Rounding out the podium was Izan Guevara, who claimed his first podium finish in Moto2. The Spaniard beat his teammate Jake Dixon after the British rider celebrated too early and miscounted the laps.

The Elf Marc VDS Racing rider Tony Arbolino completed the top five. This was Arbolino's best result since his podiums in Misano earlier this season.

Marcos Ramirez qualified in second place but could not keep up with his new teammate. The Spaniard finished the Malaysian Grand Prix in sixth.

Deniz Oncu was back in the top ten as he finished seventh for Red Bull KTM Ajo. Behind Oncu was Aron Canet on the Fantic Racing machine in eighth.

The IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia rider Somkiat Chantra finished in ninth place with Diogo Moreira completing the top ten.
