Tony Arbolino leads the way at home in Misano ahead of the fast-charging Spaniards behind him.

A week ago in Aragon, it was Jake Dixon who won his second race of the 2024 Moto2 season. Meanwhile, his other Championship challengers had a terrible time in Spain.

At San Marino though the opening Free Practice session was topped by Italian rider Tony Arbolino. The ELF Marc VDS Racing rider looks on his way out of his current team but could be set for one last hurrah with the squad.

Aron Canet crashed out of the race last week in Aragon. However, this weekend the Spaniard ended the opening session in second place on his Fantic Racing machine.

The top Boscoscuro chassis rider in Free Practice was Alonso Lopez, who finished in third. In Aragon Lopez was just off of the podium in fourth.

Last weekend Manuel Gonzalez had a typical Gonzalez weekend as he finished in fifth place. At the start of the weekend in Misano Gonzalez ended the morning session in fourth.

The Thai rider, Somkiat Chantra, ended his morning session in fifth place on his IDEMITSU Honda Asia machine. Just behind Chantra was his fellow 2025 MotoGP rookie, Fermin Aldeguer in sixth place.

Dennis Foggia has been replaced in the Italtrans Racing Team for 2025. However, the Italian has shown up at his home round as he ended Free Practice in seventh.

Jake Dixon does not typically go well around Misano, but his weekend has started well. The British rider ended Free Practice in eighth place.

It seems like Diogo Moreira will remain in the Italtrans Racing Team, but nothing has been announced yet. The Brazilian rider ended the first Practice at Misano in ninth place.

Rounding out the top ten was Sergio Garcia. The Championship leader had a heavy fall at the end of the session and will most likely be off to the medical centre.
