Glenn Irwin returned to the Paul Bird Motorsport outfit last season and ended the 2023 season in second place. In the 2024 season, the Northern Irishman put together another solid season, but a first British Superbike Championship continued to elude him.

During his nine years in the British Superbike class, Irwin has competed for four different manufacturers. He made his debut on a Ducati with PBM, before riding for Kawasaki and BMW in 2019. He then spent three years with Honda Racing UK from 2020 to 2022, before returning to Ducati last year.

Last season Irwin won eight races throughout the 32-race season on his Ducati Panigale V4 R. The 34-year-old did miss two races during the season, but only failed to finish two of the 30 races he rode in. Despite his eight race wins Irwin only featured on the podium a further two times, with one second place and one third place.

Irwin was inside the top five on nine further occasions, with seven top-ten finishes throughout the year. The #2 only finished outside of the top ten on two occasions, when he finished 14th and 15th at Thruxton.

Next year Irwin will remain with the Hager PBM squad onboard on a Ducati as he signed a two-year contract extension. However, he will not compete in road racing after deciding to retire from the North West 200.
