After winning the 2023 British Superbike Championship with Ducati a move to Honda Racing UK looked like a strange decision from Tommy Bridewell. However, he proved us all wrong in 2024.
Tommy Bridewell moving to Honda Racing UK for the 2024 season seemed like it would leave the reigning Champion with a difficult year. But Bridewell was once again a force to be reckoned with in the British Superbike Championship.
In 2023 Honda had a terrible year in the British Superbike Championship. The Japanese manufacturer's top rider in the series was in 11th place in the standings at the end of the year. But Bridewell put them back in title contention.
Throughout the 2024 season, Bridewell raced in all 32 races and only failed to finish in three of them. The 2023 British Superbike Champion did not win as many races as his title rivals as he claimed three race wins last season.
As well as his three race wins he had 16 podiums throughout the season, three thirds and 13 second places. Across the 29 races that Bridewell finished he was inside the top ten in every race with his worst result in 2024 being seventh place at Navarra and Thruxton.
The 36-year-old will stay with Honda Racing UK in the 2025 British Superbike season. Bridewell will be chasing his second title and Honda's first British Superbike title since 2013.
